Ribas
Bodega Ribas – 300 Years of Wine Tradition from Mallorca
Located in the idyllic village of Consell on Mallorca, Bodega Ribas is the oldest continuously operating winery on the island and one of the most traditional in all of Spain. Since 1711, the estate has stood for handcrafted wines that unite history, passion, and contemporary winemaking expertise. Today, the tenth generation, Araceli and Javier Servera Ribas, continues the family legacy, focusing on the highest quality and authentic character.
Refinement and Personality: The Diverse Portfolio of Bodega Ribas
More than 150,000 vines thrive across approximately 55 hectares of vineyards, all carefully tended by hand. The focus is on indigenous Mallorcan grape varieties such as Manto Negro, Gargollassa, and Prensal, which give rise to red, white, and rosé wines with a truly distinctive personality. Production is deliberately kept limited: around 240,000 bottles are produced each year, impressing with their refinement, harmony, and unmistakable character.
From Manto-Negro to Prensal – Unique Grape Varieties, Distinctive Wines
The red wines of Bodega Ribas, especially from the Manto-Negro grape, impress with intense structure, rich body, and unmistakable expression. The white wines from Prensal and Giró stand out with lively freshness and delicate minerality, while the rosés reflect the lightness and sunshine of Mallorca. This creates a diverse portfolio that consistently delights wine lovers with its unique character and Mallorcan charm.
Bodega Ribas relies on sustainable production methods and the cultivation of native grape varieties, combined with modern techniques: the red wines age up to 12 months in French and American oak barrels, while nearly extinct grape varieties are being revived. The winery thus combines tradition and innovation to craft authentic wines with true island character.
