GIN EVA – an award-winning gin distillery
In the picturesque town of Llucmajor, in the heart of Mallorca, lies Bodega Casa Eva – a place where craftsmanship, creativity, and Mediterranean joie de vivre come together. Behind the distillery are Eva Maier Gómez and Stefan Winterling, two experienced oenologists who have transformed their passion for high-quality spirits into a unique brand.

From the world of wine to the distillery
Eva and Stefan bring over a decade of experience from the international wine world, spanning Mallorca, Germany, Catalonia, and California. In 2009, they distilled their first gin as a side project while working for a Mallorcan winery. By 2012, the first Gin Eva was produced in their own distillery, and in 2016 the couple dedicated themselves entirely to Casa Eva.
Casa Eva places great emphasis on craftsmanship and regionality:
- Use of local ingredients: rosemary and thyme from the Tramuntana mountains, citrus fruits from Sóller, and olives from Valldemossa
- International awards: La Vermella was named “Best Spanish Gin” in 2019, La Mallorquina received the title “World’s Best Signature Botanical Gin,” and La Bergamota won “Best Spanish Signature Botanical Gin” in 2020
- A diverse range from gin to artisan spirits, including Vermut de Casa Eva and an exclusive selection of Mallorca wines such as red, white, and rosé

For Gin Eva Mallorca Dry Gin 45°, more than 20 carefully selected spices, herbs, blossoms, and fruits are macerated in 96% grain alcohol. Ingredients sourced from Mallorca play a particularly important role in shaping its character: local citrus fruits, juniper from the dunes of Es Trenc, and aromatic herbs such as lavender, rosemary, and wild fennel (fonoll) give it its distinctive Mediterranean note. On the nose, the gin already reveals its complexity: licorice, coriander, cassia bark, citrus, and juniper define the first impression, complemented by creamy nuances derived from the high-quality wheat alcohol. On the palate, Gin Eva impresses with its smoothness and balance—there are no harsh alcoholic notes, but rather a velvety-soft, lively, and refreshing experience. Alongside subtle peppery accents, juniper-forward, herbal aromas unfold, with hints of pine, lavender, citrus, and a touch of fennel. These flavors linger long on the finish, vividly reflecting the Mediterranean terroir of Mallorca.
S’HORABAIXA 45° – “The Deep One”
This special edition from Gin Eva impresses with its carefully selected, aromatic botanicals that authentically reflect the Mediterranean terroir of Mallorca. Thyme from the Tramuntana mountains, sourced from the Hèrtitx estate, and fresh lemons from the Sóller valley lend the gin remarkable freshness and depth. Each botanical is macerated and distilled individually in high-quality grain alcohol. After several months of resting, the individual distillates are blended into a harmonious cuvée and finally brought to drinking strength with pure spring water. In the glass, Gin Eva S’HORABAIXA 45° – Special Edition reveals a seductive bouquet: aromatic thyme, fresh juniper, and sun-ripened lemon define the nose. On the palate, it offers a perfect balance of herbal and citrus notes, highlighting the gin’s distinctive Mediterranean character. The finish is marked by a pronounced juniper presence, while thyme and lemon create a subtle, dry aftertaste—ideal for a refreshing gin and tonic on warm summer days.
