Bodegas Es Verger – Characterful Wines from the Serra de Tramuntana
In the Serra de Tramuntana near Esporles, at an altitude of around 450 metres, Bodega Es Verger produces distinctive Mallorcan wines with a strong connection to their origins. This family-run winery has a winemaking tradition dating back to the 1950s. The old Mantonegro vines planted during that period are still carefully tended today and help shape the winery’s identity. Across around seven hectares of vineyards, Mantonegro, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Viognier are cultivated organically. The special microclimate of the high-altitude vineyards, the careful selection of grapes and the deliberately small-scale production form the foundation for the handcrafted wines of Es Verger.
Traditional Winemaking with an Organic Approach
Around 15,000 litres of wine are produced annually at Es Verger. Rather than focusing on maximum production volumes, the family follows a different approach: the grapes are carefully selected, and the wines are produced in small quantities. From the very beginning, organic farming has played a central role in the winery’s philosophy. The connection to the traditional Mallorcan Mantonegro grape variety has also been preserved to this day. At the same time, international grape varieties have been introduced over the years and now hold an established place in the wines of Es Verger.

Es Verger Ses Marjades – “The Red Opulence”
Ses Marjades is an intense Mallorcan red wine with a deep garnet-red colour in the glass. On the nose, it reveals aromas of red fruit, plums and subtle roasted notes, which unfold on the palate into a broad, rich and well-balanced finish. Made from 100% Mantonegro and aged for 12 months in French oak, it presents itself as a characterful wine from Mallorca for lovers of complex red wines.
Es Verger Neu – “The Characterful White Wine”
Neu by Es Verger is a vibrant Mallorcan white wine with a clear yellow colour and delicate greenish reflections. On the nose, it reveals fruity aromas accompanied by floral notes, while on the palate, it is refreshing and full-bodied, with a harmonious finish. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, it presents itself as an expressive white wine for lovers of Mediterranean wines.
