Fleur de Sel - Ibiza
Fleur de Sel Isla Blanca - Fleur de Sel with Ibizan herbs 140g clay pot
Hand-harvested gourmet salt from the salt gardens of Ibiza. The special edition 'Isla Blanca' by Sal de Ibiza is housed in a white ceramic pot. Inspired by local herbs that form the basis of the world-famous 'Hierbas Ibicencas', this herbal salt pairs very well with typical Mediterranean white fish such as dorado or grilled chicken filet.
This unique herbal salt is mixed with aromas of essential oils from anise, fennel, chamomile, lavender, orange, mint, sage, thyme, juniper, and rosemary, as well as lemon zest and chamomile buds. A portion of the sale price goes to the Ibiza Preservation Fund, which supports local projects on the island that sustainably preserve or restore the island's natural beauty.
This gourmet salt, hand-scooped in the style of the French »Fleur de Sel«, is a particularly mineral-rich natural salt. It forms exclusively under optimal weather conditions in the corners of the salt fields, where air circulation is highest. Even after sun-drying, a certain residual moisture remains as a 'salt mother'. In this, a variety of minerals and trace elements are detectable in above-average amounts and in their original structures, such as magnesium, fluoride, selenium, and iodine 12. 'Fleur de Sel' can be collected only on a few days of the year and even in a good season makes up a maximum of 0.1% of the total harvest. Due to the unique texture of its crystals, SAL de IBIZA 'Fleur de Sel' tastes milder and fresher than ordinary table salt.
