The light green Hierbas Semi de Mallorca from Limsa is an herbal liqueur that is still made by the family today according to a secret recipe. Even today, the recipes and production method are two of the best-kept secrets.
The Hierbas de Mallorca has been known for several centuries as a typical home distillate of the island of Mallorca. It is said to have healing powers, not least due to the many herbs contained in the anise liqueur.
The herbal liqueur Hierbas (Catalan: Herbes), made with island-specific aromatic herbs such as chamomile, fennel, rosemary, lemon verbena, lemon, orange, and orange blossom, originated as early as the 16th century and was then manufactured by Mallorcan pharmacists as a remedy consumed for a variety of ailments and discomforts.
Consumption suggestion: Enjoy alone, at room temperature, cold, or with ice. It is typically consumed after meals as a digestive.
